My Toe Hurts...
Last night, I accidently jammed my foot into a toolbox. I took my sock off and found that my toe nail was falling off and my toe was bleeding. It's a little healed now but it still stings to walk on it. I look goofy, walking between classes.
Poetic Justice or No?
I just left my Film Appreciation class and finished watching the “Ice Harvest”. Afterwards, we watched one of the alternate endings which possessed Poetic Justice. For those who don’t know, Poetic Justice is the classic principle that Good triumphs over Evil.
This got me thinking about my story, A Wizard’s Tale, and the ending I have planned for it. Originally, my story was to have Poetic Justice (Spoiler Alert) in that James was to kill his friends, but then be overcome with grief and commit suicide. However, I believe that to be a little cliché.
(Spoiler Alert) The new ending I have in mind is that James takes the Tears of Guthix and brings it to Draynor, where he is supposed to meet the mysterious man. Unfortunately, the mysterious man has slipped some poison into James’s drink. James dies looking the man in the eyes and asking why he had betrayed him. The story ends as the man doesn’t respond and walks away from the bar with the Tears of Guthix.
I think that this new ending will have more of an emotional effect than James just simple offing himself, and perhaps would be even more tragic considering that James, who betrayed his friends, was betrayed himself by someone that he trusted. Is this Poetic Justice because James, who had turned against his friends, was killed at the end or is it not, considering that another evil force is free to wreck havoc? Which ending do you prefer?

The Green Hornet (2011)
Saturday, I went to the local theatre half expecting to be entertained by yet another Seth Rogen movie. However, within the first few minutes, I discovered that this particular movie was a much different, deeper movie than I had initially expected. The characters were excellent, the plot was engaging, and the fine blend of comedy, action, and drama makes this film truly stand out.
Seth Rogen’s character took on an emotional rollercoaster, always causing me to change my attitude towards him. At the beginning of the movie, I felt sorry for him, but as time progressed I began to very much dislike him. However, his character always held some likeable charm that prevented me from fully hating the character and, in the end, proved once again that he is a likable character. The same can be said for Kato, his “Sidekick”, if you’ve seen the movie you might get the joke :P, because he is ever changing and constantly sways our opinion of him. At one point, I absolutely despised Kato, but just as quick as I began to hate him, I began to like him once more.
The Green Hornet’s story is like that of the typical action flick, with its easy to follow plot, but this film is unique in that it is not solely an action movie. Dramatic moments allow the characters to show deeper feelings and to convey them with the audience which allows for excellent character building leading up to the shocking twist at the end. Yet is also riddled with comedy throughout - no one-liners… thank god - that very often filled the theatre with hearty laughter, but never disturbed the balance between action and drama which is what makes this film truly unique.
It’s difficult to find anything bad to say about The Green Hornet amid the title wave of great things. The uniqueness of this film, along with the great characters, makes it stand out amongst the other Action/Adventure, of which it was labeled, and sets the bar high for that particular genre and the rest of 2011.
However, the trailers shown before the movie seem to be promising. One film of which I’m very much looking forward to is Paul, starring Simon Pegg, which is about two people who discover and befriend an alien and their attempts to protect him from those trying to capture him. THOR also looks pretty interesting, but one movie of which I’m a bit skeptic about is Big Momma’s House: Like Father Like Son… I hope this one is better than the last disaster of a movie.

The Zombie Infection Spreads Further
Evidently, it’s flu season here because nearly everyone I know has a nasty cold-like sickness that turns my friends into a red nosed Zombie looking mess with fits of coughing and sneezing. The 20 something degree temperature doesn’t help in the slightest and being stuck in rooms filled with these zombie friends of mine is very unnerving.
A while back I had the bright idea to get a free flu shot, which may be the only thing keeping this infection at bay. I fear that I may soon fall victim to this plague and turn into one of…THEM! To gain an understanding of the fear that I feel, Picture this. You walk into your classroom and begin to chat with one of your friends. Your friend turns around and greets you with a sickly Zombie like face and a series of coughs. You then realize that everyone else around you looks nearly the same and the sound of sneezing is filling the room. Then your professor finally walks in the door with one of those masks that you typically see doctors wearing and all you can do is sit nervously in your chair and count the seconds until you’re released from class.
Got a funny story to tell about when you or someone else you know was sick? Know of some ways to avoid the Zombie infective disease? Then feel free to leave a comment.

The Bacon Theory
The Bacon Theory is that any actor/actress can be linked to another by appearences in movies. This theory originated because of Kevin Bacon's appearences in many high profile movies, such as Apollo 13, along with many many other actors and actresses. There even used to be a game show to where the contestants had to link a specific actor/actress to Kevin Bacon by using the Six Degrees of Bacon. An actor is given a Bacon Degree based on how many movies it took to link an actor/actress to Kevin Bacon. For example, Bill Murray was in "Wild Things" with Kevin Bacon and therofore has a Bacon Degree of 1 because he worked directly with Kevin Bacnon. Simon Pegg was in "Mission Impossible III" with Laurence Fishbourne who was in "Mystic River" with Kevin Bacon and therofore Simon Pegg has a Bacon Degree of 2 because he is linked to Kevin Bacon by two movies. It is said that only 12% of Actors/Actresses cannot be linked to Kevin Bacon... shocking isn't it?
This can be applied to other actors, instead of using Kevin Bacon. For example, using Ben Stiller and Tom Hanks, Tom Hanks was in "Toy Story 3" with Whoopie Goldberg who was in "Pauly Shore is Dead" with Ben Stiller.
To make this very easy and fun, use oracleofbacon.org to link your favorite actors and see how high their Bacon Degrees are. Have fun!

The Ancient Prison, Nex's lair is finally discovered
Deep in the Godwars Dungeon lies Nex, the general for Zaros, who dwells in the oldest part of the dungeon, The Ancient Prison. The only way to access Nex's lair is to unlock the door by using the Frozen Key which is split into four peices and held by only the most trusted servants of each GWD boss. To obtain the key, you must slay the monsters in the dungeons of each boss (Not the Boss room itself) and use them to unlock the Frozen door leading to Zaro's lair. Just when you think you have finally reached Nex, you must slay an additional 40 monsters to unlock the Boss room door. Nex is supposed to be the most formidable foe yet, rumored to be the strongest boss so far!, and drops what is perhaps the most unique items in the game. Nex can drop rare, unique items of the melee, ranged, and even mage classes!
Advenurers be warned! Zaras is not only extreamly difficult to reach, but is immensely difficult to defeat aswell. Even the most battle hardened warrior should not dare venture into the Frozen lair of Nex alone. Always bring a few friends with you to insure that you surrive and don't lose your precious items. The Ancient Prison offers a wide range of rare, unique items so rare drops should be more common than the other Bosses. One drop that is vastly desired by rangers is the Zaryte Bow, which is similar to the Crystal Bow in that it doesn't require any arrows BUT the Zaryte Bow doesn't Degrade!!! The other rare drops from the Ancient Prision include the Torva (Melee), Pernix (Ranged), and Virtus (Magic) Armour sets, all of which can provide you with an amazing boost of Life Points with a max boost of 400 Life Points! There is also the much coveted Ancient Cerimonial Robes, which are purely cosmetic, that only the most deserving adventurers may wear.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day
MLK day is coming up this next week and with this comes many opurtunities to give back to your communities. I am volunteering in a MLK Day of Service for my college and I encourage you to volunteer for something, it doesn't matter if it's a small service or a very large one, but please give back to your communities.
First class (Film Appreciation)
I had my first class today which was Film Appreciation, of which I had to walk to an off-Campus building and freeze my ass off because my car wouldn't start lolz. This class is supposed to teach the student how to appreciate and analyize Movies as an art form. From what the professor said, we have 10 chapters that we will go over with a quiz at the end of each (We can take it twice!) and 10 Film tests that we take which will coincide with each chapter.
One thing that my professor said that I found very shocking was that, since this class is fairly new, they haven't yet standardized what films to present in class. According to him, in the previous years, there were some videos that were rated X to appreciate the "Artwork"! =O Rofl, what the hell were they thinking? But apparently they have now set a limit to films being Rated R at the max.
I am very excited about this class because I very much enjoy films and learning how to appreciate them as an art form is very interesting to me. Also... it counts as a Humanities credit for my General Education credits. Ha Ha =) The professor reminded me of Fonzie and Adam Richman from "Man v Food", because of his leather jacket and hair straight from the 50's. He also entered the room "Fashionably Late", *cough* 15 minutes, and started violently grabbing a nearby desk and table which made my friend to make a funny observation and said "Haha this guy looks like a badass."
I am largly considering to start a blog that will hold any movies that we view in my class, or just ones I like, aswell as my thoughts and analyses because I wish to share whatever knowledge I can gain from this class with whoever cares to listen. So if you're interested in Films or just want learn about the artwork of film making, stay tuned for my next blog. For now, I'm going to read up on my textbook and head to my next class in an hour... on the sixth floor with the elevator shut down for mantaince. Nooooo!
Aside from the goofy professor and loads of familar faces in this class, I believe this will be one the classes I will enjoy the most during this "Spring" Semester.

1st day of school iced out
Yesterday, my spring sememster has started and classes were to have begun. However, it was also a chilly 27 degrees out and had been snowing and icing since the day before which caused my classes to be cancelled. I had been looking forward to attending class so I walked to the bookstore to purchase all of my textbooks which cost 815 Dollars!!!! =O. Luckily, I have good financial aid which will cover the rather large expense...phew.
When I got back home, I just flipped on the television and watched "Kingpin" which is a pretty good comedy, but also is balanced with some rather serious moments that makes for an all-around great movie. It stars Woody Harrison, Bill Murray, and some other guy.
When the movie ended, I had saw a preview of the latest movie, "The Green Hornet" which stars Seth Rogen, which comes to theatres this Friday. I'm pretty interested and may see if I can get a few of my friends to come with me. Luckily for me, a friend of mine works at the local movie theatre here and can hook me up with some free Popcorn!
If anyone has any movies that are good, whether it be in theatres or DvD, let me know and I'll see if I can find it somewhere. I may be making a new blog dedicated to movies/books that I have recently seen and my thoughts about them.

Runescape: Betrayal at Falador
Runescape Betrayal at Falador is a Fantasy novel written by T.S. Church and set in the lands of Runescape. This is the only novel written about Runescape, but there is a sequel which will be released in the upcoming months.
When I first heard of this book I never thought much of it, but I heard some good things and it just caught my interest. Last month, I ordered the paper back (wishI had ordered the Hard back cover) and had previously printed off the first chapter from the author's website (click Here to read the first chapter) so I had skipped to the second chapter and began what would be a long day of reading.
The book was very interesting, so infact that I read about 200 pages and finished the book the next day! =O, and just couldn't put the book down. The characters were likeable and the adventors were very interesting. The plot was engaging and seemed very well thought out with twists to the story that would suprise even the most experienced readers. But, perhaps my most favorite thing about the book was that it brought a new experience of Runescape to me and the excellent descriptive language made me think back to my Noob days when I had first discovered new areas, items, monsters, characters, and so much more. The story breathes life into many of Runescape's characters and makes them very likeable people with unique personalities. Characters such as Doric, the lonely Dwarven smith living on the outskirts of Falador, are likeable and places like Falador and Taverly have rich enviornments that makes each unique and instills a beatuiful image in your mind that contrasts greatly to plain looking stlye presented in the game itself.
The only things that I found dissapointing were the final battle and Some of the characters seemed to not be fully developed (some more character building was needed.) The final battle seemed like it was forever long and caused me to get lost on occasion. Also was that some of the main characters wern't fully developed and Zamorak's unconvincing attempt to turn Kara to the Dark Side. I think more time was needed developing a few more characters and less time with the final battle which seemed to drag on at times.
Overall, Betrayal at Falador was an excellent book which was well written (especially for a first time Novelist) and the story captivated the reader, never letting go. If you're a Runescape player or just enjoy reading Fantasy books, this novel is a must read. This is also a great starter book in the Fantasy Genre. To order the book, I recomment using Amazon.com because it only takes a few days to arrive...or just see if it's available at your local bookstore/library.

Spring Semester
Today is Janurary the 6th which means that I have four days left untill I start the Spring Semester. I'm actually quite excited about this because I am taking the first classes in my major (Accounting.) I'm also looking forward to taking Film Appreciation of which I had heard good things and would finish my Hummanities credits for my Gen Eds... finally. However, I am not so psyched about my Freshman Comp II class. From what I've heard, the proffessor I've taken is one of the worst- I'll try to get another- and theres a 15 Page essay for the final exam...ffs. I enjoy writing at my own pace and over whatever I choose, but I'm not too fond of having deadlines and being told what to write about, after all, who is?

Wilderness and Unbalanced Trades are Back
Well it seems as if Jagex is bringing back the old Wild and free trading...freggin hippocrites lol. Personally, I am very excited that the Wild is coming back. I hated having to switch worlds to Erase some random person and hopefully gain some nice loot, but I can once again waltz right into the Wild to happily pk whevever it pleases me. The only thing I don't necessarly like is that I can no longer make an easy trip to the agility course, sprint towards the Runite, or slay some dragons without constantly looking out for pkers.
I'm quite worried about the return of Unbalanced Trading though. With this update, the plague of the Bots may reuturn to haunt us. However, Jagex may be counting on their excellent bot-detection system of theirs to deal with what ever bots may arrive. Still, I am pleased that I could finally lend out my items without throwing in a load of Junk.
If theres one thing I can fully appreciate from the Old Wild returning it is the fact that everyone in the forums will shut the hell up about it =P.

My Runescape Withdrawal
This is my first ever blog so bearwith me if the layout isn't all that great, lol. To start, I enjoy playing Runescape and have played since 06. However, for the past three months, I have not played at all. I seem to be going though the dreaded "Runescape Withdrawal!"
To keep me busy during my would be Runescape Time, I write madlibs and have recently started creating a Runescape Company. Some of you may be wondering what exactly a Runescape company is and how they work. It's rather simple and are very fun to be a part of. A Runescape company is a made up company that is posted on the official Runescape Forums and offers a variety of services to their customers. The company that I am creating is a skilling supply delivery company in that customers post an order for an amount of an item (for example, Astral Runes.) Then our employees collect and sell them.
I began making this company to deal with my RS Withdrawal after I had lost my internet connection and resigned from the company that I was employeed in (The Ultimate Company). These companies offer loads of fun and great people to have conversations with.
The madlibs I make are loads of fun to not only write but also to play. Many of my madlibs are Runescape themed and tend to be quite comical. Infact, I used to have a thread (Here Be Madlibs) on the Runescape Forums which had over 300 posts!
I may add some of my madlibs later, but in the mean time please comment if you have ever gone through Runescape Withdrawal and what you did to pass your time. Thats my post for today and in the words of a famous pig.... "T-T-That's All Folks!"
